Using Dental Benefits for Dental Hygiene and Cleaning Visits
Patients with dental benefits can pay nothing at the time of service. Most benefit plans cover all or most of the regular preventive services recommended twice a year.
To encourage timely care, we will submit your employee benefits without asking you to pay anything on the day of your hygiene service. We will send you courtesy statements. We are comfortable waiting for your carrier to submit your benefits directly to our office and only ask that you take care of any remaining balance for hygiene services after you receive a second courtesy statement showing your balance.
For all other services, we are happy to estimate your benefits and ask that you only pay your estimated portion as services are rendered.
For hygiene and all other services we provide you with an itemization on day of service which allows you to easily follow up with your carrier should your benefits be delayed. (Carriers generally submit benefits in 3 to 5 weeks.) We allow up to 8 weeks before asking you to take care of the balance.
