Custom Crafted Dentures

Tooth loss, whether it is due to genetics, disease or injury, can be embarrassing and debilitating. Missing teeth can affect your ability to speak clearly, and make it difficult or impossible to effectively chew and digest your food. A lack of teeth can interfere with your social life and even your career. Tooth loss can also lead to bone loss in the jaws and loss of support for the face, which greatly increases the aging of the face. For many men and women, regaining a beautiful smile and face means seeking out a good pair of dentures. Cosmetic dentures with Dr. Jones are unlike the old-fashioned false teeth of your grandparents. Our dentures are made to look and feel like natural teeth. They can restore that youthful support to the face and implant supported dentures can be worn all of the time.

Partial Dentures in Seattle and BellevuePartial Dentures Bellevue and Seattle

If you decide that dental implants are not the treatment for you, we offer many choices for removable partial dentures. Most patients with partial dentures do not like the appearance or feel of the “hooks” or clasps. We are able to make partial dentures that have hidden attachments that snap into place with no clasps. By attaching the partial denture to dental crowns, you get a more attractive partial denture that fits better and works better.

Cosmetic Dentures FAQs

Am I a candidate for cosmetic dentures?
You may be a suitable candidate for cosmetic dentures if you:

  • Are missing the majority or all of your teeth due to decay, trauma or gum disease
  • Have healthy gums
  • Wish to improve the aesthetics of previous dentures

What is the difference between complete dentures and partial dentures?
Complete dentures are used when all of a patient’s teeth are missing and need to be replaced. These dentures are removable and include both upper and lower full sets of replacement teeth.

Partial dentures are a good option when only a portion of a patient’s teeth are missing (either on the upper or lower jaw). These dentures can be either removable or fixed.

What should I expect during my procedure?
Dentures are typically placed over the course of several dental appointments. During your first appointment, Dr. Jones will make an impression of your mouth. The impression will be sent to a dental laboratory where your dentures will be made. Once your dentures are ready, you will return to Dr. Jones’ office so she can place them in your mouth. She will also make any last-moment adjustments needed to ensure your dentures look right and have the right fit.

How do I take care of my dentures?
Like natural teeth, dentures need to be brushed after every meal or at the very least twice a day to remove food particles. Once they are ready, Dr. Jones will review with you how to clean and take care of your dentures in detail.

How long do dentures last?
Dentures can last anywhere from five to 10 years. Your dentures will eventually need to be replaced due to normal wear and changes in your gums and bones as you age.

Will dentures make me look different?
Dentures can help you improve the way you look and feel. Gaps, missing teeth and bone loss often create a collapsed-looking face. Dentures can help restore a balanced and more younger-looking facial appearance. Rest assured that your dentures will be tailor-made to make sure that they fit your mouth correctly for a natural-looking appearance.

Do dentures affect my gums?
Your gums are sensitive tissue and can become sore after using dentures. Removing your dentures at night can help alleviate soreness.

Will dentures affect the way I eat?
You may experience some difficultly eating with your dentures for the first few days. This is temporary. Eating should become easier once you make readjustments to your chewing.

Does dental insurance cover dentures?
Insurance coverage varies by plan. Depending on your plan, your insurance may cover all or a portion of your denture procedure. If you need assistance paying for your dentures, Dr. Jones offers several financing options to help make your procedure affordable.
